It doesn't taste super strong and minty which is really nice because it leaves your mouth feeling a lot cleaner. It can make a mess in the basin when you rinse but you can just wash it away. The only downside I have found is that it leaves my teeth feeling sensitive. I spoke to my dentist and she says it's because of the graininess of the activated charcoal and bicarbonate of soda so now I alternate a sensitive toothpaste with this one now but I'm still completely in love with it!08/09/2019, By SimoneI love this product! I added extra peppermint oil to give it a stronger fragrance.
It may look like it stains but not if you wipe it off immediately on the basin with warm water (it has oil in it so cold water isn't that effective) and you need to spit as low as possible to avoid a mess.

Through a process of elimination I came to the conclusion that I may just be allergic to the clove oil in this. It's only been a few days since I started using this and it sounds shifty but it's literally the only new thing I've introduced to my regimen. I'm not trying to scare anyone away from using the procuct though because other than the taste it's actually great and in the few days I've been using it I actually noticed a difference in the condition of my teeth. I'm putting this up as a warning for anyone else who may experience something similar who also believes themselves immune. As far as taste goes if you like that fresh minty taste then don't expect it from this product. I used my another natural brand after a few days just to experiment and found it left my mouth feeling "burny" if I can explain it that way.

Unfortunately the charcoal is quite messy and it takes a lot of rinsing and brushing just to get the toothpaste out your mouth. Brush your teeth first and try to not let it touch your tongue and then at the end brush your gums and tongue and rinse. This works for me and has made the transition quite easy. Everything you want in a toothpaste: remineralizing, very cleansing but it's still such natural ingredients that if you eat it it could actually en good for you.
