Look, I have dread locks, and my hairline has taken a bit of a strain thanks to the constant pulling and styling. Just a little bit on my hairline, a few massages on the roots of my hair, and my hair seems to be loving it.
I also started using it at night on my face and for my hands. My skin is looking much much smooother with less blotchiness, and it absorbs quite well to. I also use it on my hands as I seem to suffer from the hardest cuticles. After using this shea butter for at least 3 weeks, and not necessarily every day, my cuticles have softened and my hands are a bit more softer. It has a very earthy/nutty smell but I've fallen in love with it, and although it is a bit oily (first warm it between hands before application) it still feels light on the skin and soaks in nicely after a while. I use this mainly at night when I go to bed on hands and feet. Every now and then I also apply to my face for a bit of a treat (...only when I'm home for the day as it does make skin shine), and also after I cleaned the house or worked in the garden and my hands need a bit of a moisture boost. I have seen a major improvement in the condition of my nails - they used to be very weak but now they grow well and are much stronger. But this Shea is rancid! Shea butter should smell smokey a bit but there is a revolting sour smell which is a sign of rancidity. Also a bit of debris at the bottom of my jar. However upon reading further on the product's benefits, it was outlined that it's a great immolient for skin, so I decided to apply it on from head to toe.
Being a person diagnosed with chronic atopic dermatitis for an early age and being on cortisone steroid creams for basically all my life, I absolutely found this product to have an excellent efficacy for my condition.
My skin has NEVER looked so radiant! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has an eczema problem and the fact that it's organic means it can be used on little ones too.
The scent might be an issue for some but if you've grown up with skin problems it shouldn't be a factor as the benefits of this product outweigh such a small detail.03/11/2018, By NatassiaFirst time I use shea butter ever..so cannot compare it. I was suprised by the smell when I received it as I imagined it would have a buttery vanilla type smell to it..just shows how processed some products are that says it contains shea butter. After I received my shea butter I ordered some sweet almond oil and jojoba oil and I made my own body whip by using the shea butter, almond and jojoba oils, virgin coconut oil and essential oils..and its yum and so good for my skin. I even apply it under my arms after I shower as I easily get a rash even though I use only natural deodorant. I applied it over sun burn on my shoulder and it has caused me to have a painful allergic reaction. When I applied the Isivuno shea butter over sun burn in the past, it healed it.
