25/04/2019, By AnsieI made a started batch as instructed by the leaflet (Then afterwards I saw on the internet that vinegar must not be used, but rather kombucha tea). After about 4months and leaving a batch for 1.5 weeks, mold started to grow on the tea. When I troubleshooted I saw that when using a dehydrated scoby the living things that protect from mold are too weak from dehydration to protect the Kombucha. So this is a common occurrence with dehydrated and refrigerated kombucha scobies. Maybe it is a summer product requiring warmer weather. Just not working for me.
10/07/2018, By AngelaMy friend and I both purchased this kit. We followed instructions to the letter, and weeks later, we both still had a dehydrated scoby. When we contacted the supplier, we were told to leave it in a bit longer, which we did. If that did not work, we had to place them in a new batch of tea, which we did . Unfortunately, none of ours rehydrated and we both threw out our batches. We wasted our money :(25/06/2018, By KeikomiKombucha is something I have wanted to try out for ages, but it looked so difficult. It turns out it is actually extremely simple. I have loved cultivating my own juice. Amazing.
