I had to poke a bit out with a spoon handle and found it didn't "melt" easily when I rubbed it in my hands to soften to apply. It works very well as a styler and to say a little goes a long way is a MASSIVE understatement. I use about a grain of rice sized amount (if that) before applying my leave in conditioner and it gives me great hold. I have mid-shoulder blade length 2c, curly-coily hair. It takes some getting used to as it is very easy to use too much which leaves you looking quite greasy. Enjoying it a lot so far, I think it will be even better when I perfect how much to use.
