I initially thought it hurts and leaks. Initially, I also took forever to put it in and take it out. until I mastered it. Now I can't live without it and I've saved so much money.
Remember to always sterilise the cup before use and maybe by boiling it for a while the first time will make it not so stiff or hard to use.

I've experienced the same - leaking...so I've had to use pantiliners.
I also feel like some of the other reviewers that it defeats the purpose of trying to cut down on sanitary products ending up in landfills.
In addition, the first couple of times taking it out was quite painful as there were no instructions re that. For the first time in decades, I went about my day without worrying if I was leaking or if I had remembered to put an extra tampon in my handbag.
The silicon material is great and it popped open the moment I inserted it. It is also soft and flexible enough to bend it into a comfortable shape for insertion. You can't be squeamish because you're going to be getting up close and personal with yourself, but think about the eco-friendly impact you're making!23/07/2018, By EsmeThis product definitely takes some time getting used to and educating yourself on YouTube is a must. I wouldn't say that it is hassle-free and it is definitely not more discreet than tampons, keeping in mind that you have to sterilise (e.g. boil) it before and after each cycle and that cleaning it after each removal is a bit of a schlep (e.g. rinsing if you have immediate access to a sink or wiping it off with wipes if you don't). I agree with the other reviewers in that the cup starts staining after one or two uses. I use a bio-bleach from FtN (chlorine-free) to clean mine at the end of each cycle, which works really well, but again, it is not very discreet. I was also disappointed that the stem broke off before the product was a year old. The rim is quite tough, making removal a bit uncomfortable, but it is nothing you can't get used to. As for insertion, I would recommend using a lubricant, e.g. coconut oil, as this makes it MUCH easier (but again, not hassle-free...). All that being said, the pros of decreasing waste and not using fibrous tampons outweigh the cons. It is also surprisingly comfortable once you get the hang of it. Now that I am used to it I don't mind using it at all because you only need to clean it twice a day compared to other products that can be awkward to sort out away from home.
Sadly I wouldn't be able to recommend this cup to teenagers as it can be challenging to insert and remove and I find the removal is unfortunately not discomfort-free.
Still worth it though. The Goddess cup is more 'difficult' to remove, as the material is much stiffer than the Mooncup, it is not painful though, it just stretches the opening more than the Mooncup does.
The first two times of removing it, it bothered me, but I am now used to it, and don't find it challenging.

But as luck would have it, my package arrived early as well! I very excitedly sterilised the cup, and then took a stab at inserting it after watching a few videos on how to do it correctly. I did not get it right the first time, so I removed it (a rather weird feeling trying to unsuction the cup), washed it, cut off the stem (horrid little thing), and re-inserted. This time around I got it right. I couldn't feel the cup at all, and it makes such a welcome change to tampons. I am so happy with this purchase, and cannot see myself ever buying disposable products again, unless it's an emergency. But mine has bubbles on the surface that is really as serious concern considering where it has to go for hours. Isn this supposed to be smooth with no place where bacteria can hide. And the stem tore the first day I used it and I ended up going back to the tampons I was trying to move from. I am not sure about the quality of the product as it does not even have production of batch coding to show that the quality is controlled somehow.
