The spray is useful for external application. We take the spray nozzle out and pour measures into a (non-metal) spoon or cup for internal use. It is great for cold sores as well as long as you put some one early. I bit my cheek (OUCH!) and sprayed this and it was gone much quicker than if left to heal on its own.
