I ended up using it without the rubber piece on the inside. It ended up working and not leaking so I was happy. The quality of this accessory has deteriorated markedly over the years. We have had our urn for 15 years now and our first tap lasted 10 years. Now I have lost 2 taps in less than 12 months. I do feel the supplier needs to look at this. Not at all a reflection on Faithful to Nature - your service is always tops.
