Maybe will be better in future with other issues than what I have used for so far so do try if you think may be helpful for you. I have used lanolin in the past and it was incredible for healing cuts etc and had heard a lot about the healing nature of paw paw. It comes out of tube and applies easily (for lanolin which can be hardish) and there is a heavy sticky residue as expected. I do find this has an unpleasant smell to it though but not overbearing.
