I really don’t like using chemical repellants but this cream has a lovely natural smell and deters those horrible mosquitoes. I notice it’s effectiveness when I don’t put it on and end up with itchy bites. You have to apply it a while before going outside it seems, for it to sink in - spent an entire evening outdoors and was totally fine, but in the jungles where you sweat a lot, it doesn't seem to do the trick unfortunately. Luckily for your average summer evening braai there aren't swarms of mozzies! Will keep using this for non extreme environments :)02/06/2016, By LorraineI love this product. I normally have them buzzing round my ears all night and tend to get bites on my hands which is extremely itchy and irritating. I only use this product when I hear a mosquito and just put it on my ears and tops of my hands......no more noise and no bites. I however carried on using it and found it working other times, very strange how it works sometimes and not other times! In the end, I found it helpful but it seems it can be a bit harsh for some skin types, or maybe ones skin just needs to get used to it. For me it stung a bit when I first applied it but then my skin got used to it quickly. I tried it one night, got bitten once and swopped to tabard in the middle of the night. Decided to try it again - got bitten every where again and once again hunted mozzies and had to revert to using tabard cream in the middle of the night. So, this product does NOT work in my view.
