A porcelain hand wash basin, probably older than 50 years, was really badly stained. I made up a paste with hot water, scrubbed the basin with it and left it to stand for about 20 minutes and then gave it another scrub...the result - a glistening and stain free basin. You can just imagine when she comes back from home the state she usually is in and I just took my scoop of Bio Wash with Bio Bleach in hot water and soaked her soaks and school dress and the results are so amazing each time... It works like magic, so I wanted to try the washing powder, only to find that it contains palm oil. This is very disappointing.
I try and stay away from palm oil in all my consumables, as to not support this industry. So many rain forests and animals, especially orangutans, are destroyed, not to mention the tons of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere, during fire clearing for the sake of making space to planting these palms. Just google it. Its a greedy, non-ethical industry. In saying that, there ARE sustainable palm oil plantations and suppliers. So far I am not disappointed at all. The trick to its success is a warm wash, and that the load is not too full so that it can dissolve properly. It cleans well and is economical.
