Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant made by the body that is found in every cell, where it helps turn glucose into energy. It is considered a "conditionally essential antioxidant nutrient", as it attacks "free radicals," waste products created when the body turns food into energy. It is a unique antioxidant that functions in water and fat, unlike the more common antioxidants vitamins C and vitamin E, and it appears to be able to recycle antioxidants such as vitamin C and glutathione. Alpha lipoic acid also converts glucose (blood sugar) into energy and combined with its ability to kill free radicals may help people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Love this product. heard about it from Tim Ferriss the four hour body. Helps you lose weight if dieting and taken with every meal, as it reduces insulin spikes, also helps with nerves if taken for a month.
