I keep 2 brands of tahini in my kitchen...nature's choice brand which has a more savoury taste and so i like to use it for savoury things like hummus, and the ohMega brand which somehow tastes less savoury, so i use it for homemade sweet treats. The ohMega is tasty right out the jar, but for me the nature's choice is too salty and strong to eat it just as is.27/08/2018, By MoniqueThese are sooo yummy - i bought them for my kiddie as a healthy snack. Add fresh lemon juice, some raw crushed garlic and water to desired thickness. Great on raw cauliflower. Also make one with some low sodium soy sauce. I am not a tahini connoisseur but I have tried 4 different brands of Tahini and have found them all extremely bitter. When you google "should tahini taste bitter" you get a array of opinions ranging from it should taste slightly bitter; no - it shouldn't be bitter and if it tastes bitter it is rancid; others say that un-hulled sesame seeds gives a non bitter taste. I honestly can't say if I just don't like the taste of Tahini (although I love good hummus) or that every type of Tahini i have purchased tastes extremely bitter. Perhaps it is just me and my family?!

Its sesame seeds crushed and nothing else. I have just made the the nicest hummus ever because I used a big dollop of "Oh Mega Sesame Tahini". Makes all the difference in the creamy taste.
