Monate; pronounced “Maw-naah-teê“ is literally the Sotho word for delicious. Monate Chocolate is proudly South African, they make everything in small batches, by hand in the Monate secret chocolate factory tucked away in a little jungle in Johannesburg. It starts by sourcing the absolute highest quality ingredients possible: beginning with the best single origin, organic, raw Cacao. All the other ingredients are selected similarly from natural, organic, raw and ethical sources. Using their own original recipes, each treasured batch is concocted by hand with love at low heat temperatures, employing ancient methods and slow processes to ensure taste, vitality, magic, healing and quality.
